Overview

This client needed a specific WordPress theme they purchased to be customized in order to achieve the following goals:

• Showcase different categories of news articles and other posts
• Integrate mobile friendly ad spaces into the theme which the client could use to rotate ads
• Integrate a scrolling stock ticker and other real-time stock widgets from specific accounts of the client's
• Display email capture popups
• Update the color scheme of the site based on the client's logo
• Adjust the layout of the theme according to the type of content the client wanted to display

Implementation Details

We used custom HTML, CSS, and PHP to create a child-theme which achieved the above goals.

The ad spaces were built to display Google Ads.

Tickers and real-time stock widgets were selected from quotemedia.com for integration. Shortcodes were built into the child-theme for each widget, so they could be easily placed within the site.

A free plugin was integrated in order to facilitate the email capture popups.

A color scheme was designed based on the client's logo and built into the child-theme in order to stay consistent throughout the site.
